Within a short walk of the Meltham, there are many local attractions and amenities to be enjoyed.
We are only a 5 minute walk to Scarborough new Open Air Theatre.
The North Bay of Scarborough is home to Peasholm Park and the Sea Life Centre. The famous Alexandra Bowling Club is less than two minutes by foot, close to the local Cinema which is less than a minutes walk. Scarborough cricket club is less than three minutes walk.
Within a short distance (less than 10 minutes) there is also a swimming pool, outdoor bowls, crazy golf, and Cliff Golf course. You can walk into the town centre in 15 - 20 minutes and enjoy many pubs, resturants, amusements or the Stephen Joseph theatre.
A little further afield, the Meltham provides an excellent location to explore the beautiful and rugged North East Coastline with its miles of beautiful walks alongside sandy beaches and secluded picturesque coves.
The world famous North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway is within easy reach, as is TV's "Heartbeat" and "The Royal" country.
For those interested in history there is of course Scarborough castle less than 10 minutes away, built in 1135 and reputedly haunted by Richard III.
A short drive takes you to majestic sites such as Whitby Abbey, Rievaulx Abbey and Kirkham Priory together with the must-see castles at Helmsley and Pickering. There are famous historic houses to visit like Burton Agnes Hall, Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall all within reasonable distance.
For those that like walking and mountain bike riding, the beauty of Forge Valley, the North Yorkshire Moors and Dalby Forest are there to be enjoyed, along with walks and rides into and around Robin Hoods Bay.
